On Saturday Clear Line reached a major stage of our works at Elstree University Technical College in Borehamwood.
We lifted two atrium roof structures to their final position on top of the college. Each roof light comprised a steel work structure and aluminium curtain wall, measured 10 metres squared and weighed approximately 11,000kg.
The roof lights were constructed on the ground floor level and were lifted to the roof using specially designed temporary bracing and a 250-tonne crane. This was a major lift that we were pleased to see take place so smoothly.
What now remains is to glaze the structure. Our main works there are due to be completed in October, with demobilisation of site and access to be completed by November.
We are very pleased to be able to announce our support for the Rotary Club of Rivelin Valley, a local branch of the international charitable organisation, Rotary Foundation.
Rivelin Valley organises events for disadvantaged children from across Sheffield, from scavenger hunts in the Peak District to Christmas trips to Gulliver’s Kingdom to meet Santa Claus. Made up of a relatively small group of volunteers, Rivelin Rotary tries to keep its overheads low in order to take as many children as possible on the trips.
Clear Line is proud to be able to offer the use of its minivan to transport the children on trips and a donation to help make these events possible. We look forward to closer collaboration in the future, helping with further fundraising efforts.
The Rotary Club of Rivelin Valley is planning a trip to the Butterfly House this coming October. If you’d like to find out more about the branch, please click here. If you’d like to follow their activity on Facebook, please click here.
Congratulations are in order for our Assistant Project Manager, Haaroon Rasool, and his wife, Sahrish, who celebrated their marriage yesterday!
Haaroon, who has been with Clear Line since early 2014, invited his Clear Line colleagues to a delicious meal (plus chocolate fountain) at the Sunrise restaurant in Bradford. We enjoyed meeting Haaroon’s parents, brothers and sisters, and most importantly, Sahrish, who looked stunning in a red jewelled wedding dress.
The happy couple are currently enjoying their honeymoon in London (possibly visiting some of our sites… we like to be efficient) and we look forward to Haaroon’s return next week. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Rasool!
